The National Park Bavarian Forest is the first and oldest internationally recognized National Park in Germany. 24.300 ha big, 320 km well signposted hiking trails, more than 200 km tagged cycle tracks and 170 km cross country tracks. All of that in the middle of ethnic nature and on top of that there is a lot to learn about the environment.

Orchids, European otters, fresh water muscel pearls and bats. In the Bavarian Forest Nature Park grow and live many plants and animals that are in danger of extinction. The Große Arber, also called the King of the Bavarian Forest, is with its 1456 Meters not only the highest mountain in the Bavarian-Bohemian border mountain range, it has also a special status in the Bavarian Forest because of its nature. In any case you definitely have to visit it when you are on holiday in the ARBERLAND.

The Pale is a seldom evidence for the elemental force of nature. The quartz crystal filled split in the mountain ground of the Bavarian Forest has developed in more than 300 million years. It is over 150 kilometers long. At a few spots, at which it comes through the surface, bizzare rock formations can be admired.
